Highland Games
Play games and socialize in the high country above the city of Bern – where the Scottish highland cattle graze and the sheepdogs herd their sheep.Dressed in kilts, teams compete against each other as clans.
After a practice round, the teams will compete for the best ranking. A drink at the whiskey bar and a tasty barbecue will help make your event an unforgettable experience. And, who knows? Maybe you'll even be a winner at the Scottish Highland Games!
Choose your own combination of games:
Archery, whiskey tasting and recognition, horseshoe toss, laser clay pigeon shooting, sheaf toss, caber toss, rolling pin toss, wellie long throw, cow milking (machine), stone put, hit the rat, blowpipe, tractor pull.
Culinary treat: We recommend combining your excursion with hearty refreshments ("Währschafti Choscht") and a Scottish barbecue.
"Währschafti Choscht" (refreshments): Traditional cheeses, country sausage, Bernese farmhouse bread and trimmings
Scottish barbecue (large buffet): Various meats and salads, potatoes au gratin, farmhouse bread and Bernese braided bread
Scottish barbecue (small buffet): Pork steak, bratwurst, chicken breast, hamburgers, marinated vegetables, salads and farmhouse bread
Desserts: Seasonal fruit salad with cream; something sweet to accompany coffee; homemade cakes and cookies; Scottish dessert buffet with fruit salad, chocolate and vanilla mousse, cookies and highland snow (creamy dessert with a shot of single malt whiskey)
